"Glass to me is a way of life. I have explored this multifaceted liquid - a beautiful and mystical fusion of inorganic elements that metamorphose with heat to form crystal. And in that liquid state it beckons -
"come dance with me if you dare".
There have been moments when my very essence of being has been one with this molten mass. These works are special to me for they came from the feeling of hot glass".

Alan Fox was born in Sydney in 1953 and studied glass at Ultimo Technical College from 1969-72. At the age of 19 a serious accident forced him to look at alternative work options, it was then he discovered glass-blowing, from which ensued a comprehensive study of glass technology and design. He traveled to Europe and Asia during 1979-81 to learn more about glass technology. In London he met Sam Herman, the contemporary Californian glass artist, who convinced him to establish his own technique with glass. Today he is recognised as a leader in his field. His work is represented in Art Galleries and in private collections throughout the world.
